A major economic summit today in Appleton looks at ways to boost the state’s economy. Morning activities include unveiling of a Deloitte Touch study that looks at how Wisconsin stacks up to similar states. The study was commissioned by Competitive Wisconsin, Inc., Wisconsin Economic Development Association and the Wisconsin Counties Association.

Other presentations include findings from the Wisconsin Technology Council and other sources related to angel and venture capital formation, the role of local government in economic development will also be explored and the Wisconsin Way’s Blueprint for Change 2010.

“The audience will be engaged in the discussion about whether we or not can come together on some major themes and major directions for this state,” says Jim Wood, Wood Communications President.

The public including those from non-profits, business, education and agriculture are invited to attend.

The summit is the first of a three-part series with the later ones to be held in La Crosse and Milwaukee.
