After pouring in 32 points and ten rebounds in Saturday’s Marquette win over Butler, it is no surprise that Henry Ellenson has been named the Big East Conference newcomer of the week for the fifth time this season.

Ellenson collected a pair of double-doubles in wins over Stetson and Butler, averaging 22 points, 10.5 rebounds and three blocks per contest.  He knocked down all of his three-point attempts and combined to shoot 81.8 percent from the free throw line.

Ellenson’s 32 points in the win over the Butler is the highest scoring total by a Marquette freshman since Dwyane Wade scored 35 at DePaul in 2001-02.

Ellenson’s 13 double-doubles are the ninth most in college basketball and most in the Big East.
