Last year, the Green Bay Packers lost tackle Bryan Bulaga to a season ending injury at the team’s Family Night Scrimmage.  Trying to avoid a repeat, this years Family Night event on August 2, will be a normal practice at Lambeau Field, instead of a scrimmage.

The Packers are looking to diminish the chances of seeing one of their key players go down in a scrimmage.

Last year’s Family Night event drew a record crowd of 63,047.  It’ll be interesting to see if the Packers can come close to that number without a scrimmage.

The event will still feature a fireworks show and a random drawing of jerseys worn by the players.  The full practice will also include some 11-on-11 sessions that will feature live contact.
