A New London man who was upset with his wife for not buying beer, is accused of shooting a pet goat. Peter Mischler is facing charges in Waupaca County of mistreating animals, possessing a gun while drunk and disorderly conduct with a dangerous weapon. Mischler reportedly came home from hunting and became angry his daughter for letting their two goats out of their pen and for making mess. While she was talking on the phone with her mother, her father told her to tell her mother to bring home some beer. She refused and he threatened to shoot the goats. When his wife got home, she and her daughter heard gunshots, then went outside to find one of the goats had been shot. A sheriff's deputy later killed the goat. Mischler was arrested later at a local bar.
