Central Wisconsin got its first look this week, at the site of next summer’s Farm Technology Days in Marathon County. Ken and Karen Seehafer hosted a “sneak peek” event, at their farm just north of Marshfield. Marathon County officials have been planning for the show for about the past two years, but Ken Seehafer said he’s been preparing for a lifetime: it’s something he’s always wanted to do. “In my little world it’s like going to the Super Bowl,” he said. “This is the biggest outdoor show in Wisconsin. Why wouldn’t we want to host it?” As for Karen, she’s been getting her gardens ready. “It’ll be interesting for people who enjoy gardening,” she said.

The Seehafers milk about 250 cows and farm nearly 900 acres. Farm Technology Days runs July 12th to the 14th. It will be the third time Marathon County has hosted the show. The first time was in the mid-70’s, and the last time was in 1996.
