Wisconsin’s latest round of flooding remains a critical situation today. Tod Pritchard with Wisconsin Emergency Management says efforts remain centered on Arcadia, where the National Guard evacuated a senior citizens’ complex this morning. “And there’s a major concern this morning that the west side of Arcadia is still in danger, and there may have to be more evacuations,” said Pritchard.

That’s in addition to 343 homes already evacuated due to the flooding Trempeleau River. “There’s other areas of town where there are still folks hanging out in their homes. Those folks certainly need to be watching the news, listening to their radios and getting the latest information, because it is a fast changing situation.” Pritchard said those residents need to keep their radios on in case further evacuations are ordered. There are have also been evacuations in Marathon County, and roads are washed out in several counties.
