A police officer in Clark County was involved in a fatal shooting overnight. According to the Neillsville Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Department, police were dispatched to a call of some type of domestic disturbance at a residence on Grand Avenue in Neillsville at about 2:32 am Friday.
An officer from the Neillsville Police Department arrived and was confronted by a subject with a weapon. During the confrontation, that person was shot. The individual was transported to Memorial Medical Center by ambulance, and then flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where the subject later died. The sheriff’s department and the state Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the incident.
