Yesterday's news out of Biloxi, Mississippi that indicated Packers quarterback Brett Favre was leaning towards coming back again next season, is just that.

Most Packers fans were excited to hear the news, and took it as a definite that Favre would be back.  But in all reality, Favre's only message is that he wasn't treating this game as if it might be his last and that his two daughters told him he should play one more year.

Personally, I think Favre is coming back for another season.  But he hasn't let anybody inside 1265 Lombardi know of such a plan.  In fact, Mike McCarthy was upset when he heard of Favre's comments just prior to an afternoon news conference.

McCarthy said his quarterback hadn't told him a thing, and seemed disappointed to here that Favre's future had come up, just a couple of days before their first playoff game against Seattle.  McCarthy wants everyone on his team focussing on Seattle.

According to Al Jones, who wrote the ariticle in the Sun Herald, Favre is the one that contacted him about the news.  If that's the case, then Favre is who McCarthy should be upset with.  Favre causing his own distraction and forcing his teammates to deal with the aftermath, instead of himself.

Certainly, Favre and the Packers winning the Super Bowl could change Favre's mind.  McCarthy just wants the decision to come after the season and not during the playoffs.
