Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre says he probably needs arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle to clean out bone spurs after the season.
Favre had a similar surgery on the same ankle in 1996 to remove large bone chips and a spur.
Favre said the pain is worse some days than others and he'll have to convince himself to do it.
Favre said that the surgery would not affect his decision if he wants to return for a 17th NFL season.
