Brett Favre has reportedly signed his re-instatement papers and is ready to send them to NFL headquarters, but will wait for a few days to allow Green Bay Packers General Manager Ted Thompson time to resolve the issue.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy (pictured) has already stated and restated that Aaron Rodgers is the Packers starting quarterback when the NFL season opens Sept. 8 at home vs. Minnesota. Thompson asking Favre to stay away for a few days would lead one to believe that Thompson will try desperately to trade Favre.
Favre told ESPN.com that he might report to Green Bay Monday or Tuesday if Thompson didn't resolve anything.
The Packers may start training camp without a full fledged circus, but there's no guarantee it won't get to that soon.
Ted Thompson is scheduled to meet with the media on the first day of training camp (Monday afternoon).
