US Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) says a power shift may be on the way for Congress, after next week's midterm elections. He expects the US House to change to Democrat control, but is unsure about the Senate. With that change though, Feingold says it could lead to a new policies for the war in Iraq. The Wisconsin Democrat says control of the House means the Bush administration can no longer "run ragged" with its Iraq policy.
Even if Republicans are able to maintain control of both chambers, Feingold expects many GOP lawmakers to begin pushing for a change after the elections. That could include forming a timetable to get troops out of Iraq.
