Democratic US Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin talked presidential politics, during a stop in Wisconsin's north woods.

Feingold discussed bringing the party back together now that Hillary Clinton has suspended her campaign. He says everybody has to recognize that she was the first strong woman candidate in our nation's history. Even though it didn't work out, he says people still need to respect the impact of her campaign.

Feingold says there's plenty of time to get things smoothed out, following an often bitter primary race. He says presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is a great candidate who went through a tough process of being tested, and passed with flying colors.

Feingold sees a number of issues on the minds of voters heading toward November. He expects the Iraq War, gas prices, and health care to be among the major concerns the American public will have this fall.

Feingold was the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for the Oneida County Democratic Party.
