Green Bay Packers tight end Mike McCarthy spent Sunday night in a hospital and will continue to undergo more evaluation.

When asked about Finley’s prognosis, Coach Mike McCarthy said Finley suffered a significant neck injury and will need more time with doctors to determine just what the next step is.

McCarthy said Finley is “very upbeat, very positive.”  He was to remain in the hospital on Monday.

Two years ago, Packers safety Nick Collins suffered a neck injury and missed the rest of the season.  But Mike McCarthy said it’s too early to make that judgement on Finley.

McCarthy said he watched the hit from Cleveland’s Tashaun Gipson last night and again today (Monday).  He didnt’ see anything that looked like a dirty hit.

Finley was taken off on a stretcher after the play in question on Sunday.
