Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley reported on his Twitter page today that he’s telling teammates he’s out for the rest of the season.

Greg Bedard from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel first reported that Finley’s knee surgery this week showed more damage than was originally thought.  His timetable for recovery is now 8 to 10 weeks which would like force the team to place him on injured reserve and end his season.

It was originally thought that Finley would be out for 3 to 6 weeks.

The Packers also placed safety Derrick Martin on injured reserve with a knee injury that he suffered in Sunday’s loss at Washington.  The Packers also announced the signing of linebacker Robert Francois to the active roster from the practice squad.
