wx09062016The National Weather Service has flash flood watches in place through Wednesday for a large portion of Wisconsin. Widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches are likely across the area through Wednesday night. Where storms move over the same area, rainfall totals could be in excess of 6 inches.

The NWS in La Crosse says thunderstorms will continue to become more numerous late Tuesday afternoon and continue into the overnight hours. These storms will be capable of producing flooding, large hail, damaging winds, and maybe an isolated tornado. The greatest threat looks to be along and south of Interstate 90.

Up to one and three quarter inches of rain fell Monday night and early Tuesday in far northwest Wisconsin.
