Madison police have made an arrest in a Sunday evening hit-and-run on the city's northeast side. Tentative charges of failing to render aid have been filed against a 35 year-old Fond du Lac woman accused of striking a man and his two year old grandson. Police spokesman Joel Despain says Rachel Kozlowski stopped her van in the street, and then took off running. "It was more than two and a half hours after the crash that we found her," DeSpain said. Kozlowski was in the vicinty of the Monona police department. "There's some indication she was looking to turn herself in," said DeSpain.

Despain added that other charges are being considered. The grandfather and little boy remain in serious condition. Despain said they were playing on the sidewalk when the toddler ran into the street, and the 52 year old-man ran out to grab him. He had just scooped up the little boy when they were struck.
