Ron Horton of Fond du Lac says nobody at first believed he’d become the state lottery’s newest millionaire at first. Horton, who works as a supervisor at Sadoff Iron & Metal in Fond du Lac, says he has a reputation for joshing others.

Horton spoke to reporters Friday at Ma & Pa’s Grocery Express where he purchased the $1 million Powerball ticket. He found out Thursday morning at work that he’d won the Powerball drawing, and said he didn’t think about what he might spend it on until he was returning from the lottery office in Madison.

After taxes Horton get’s about $670,000, but he says he’s going to take time deciding what he’ll do with the money. For their part Ma & Pa’s Grocery Express, who sold the winning ticket to him, gets a $20,000 commission.
