The Wisconsin Badgers face Illinois in their Big Ten home opener at Camp Randall Stadium (11am) this morning.
All eyes will be on the quarterback position where Joel Stave is expected to start and Tanner McEvoy will get some work as well.
The Badgers best production should be on the ground though.
Wisconsin has rushed for 1,657 yards in the first five games this season. That’s 154 yards ahead of last years program record-setting pace (3,689 yards). Melvin Gordon has twice set single game records this season.
Illinois will likely provide another great ground opportunity for the Badgers. The Illini gave up 349 yards on the ground in a loss to Purdue last week. The Boilermakers were averaging 170 yards a game going into that contest.
