The Attorney General's lawsuit against the Government Accountability Board heads back into court today.

A Dane County judge could rule the lawsuit calling on the GAB to verify voter registrations dating back to 2006. The Attorney General argues checks are needed to comply with federal law, but the Board says it only needs to verify records dating back to August 1st of this year.

Andrea Kaminski with the League of Women Voters says the case has created a lot of questions from voters, with many calls and e-mails from people who are worried that there right to vote could be questioned.

If a judge orders the checks to move ahead, Kaminski says voters shouldn't panic. She says they should check with the state or their county clerk to verify their information. Or, they can vote early and directly address potential challenges before Election Day.

The League of Women Voters is among many groups that have filed briefs supporting the GAB in the lawsuit.
