Inflammation and right shoulder tightness will sideline Milwaukee Brewers closer Eric Gagne for awhile.
Gagne left the team on Wednesday night to go back to Milwaukee to be examined by team physician William Raasch.
Gagne left Tuesday's game against the Pirates in the 9th inning with stiffness in the front part of the shoulder after he allowed a two-run homer in his relief stint.
In Gagne's absence, the Brewers will go to a closer by committee approach to saving games.
