The Milwaukee Brewers couldn’t make it back-to-back wins over the Chicago Cubs as they dropped a 5-4 decision Wednesday night at Miller Park.

Starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo tied a season low by lasting just 4-innings.  He allowed 4-runs on 8-hits while walking-5 to fall to 6-7 on the season.  Gallardo tossed 96-pitches on the night, an average of 24-pitches an inning.  Manager Ron Roenicke wasn’t happy with Gallardo’s night…

Scott Feldman was solid for Chicago.  He made it 6-innings giving up 3-runs on 6-hits improving his record to 7-6 with the quality start.

Rickie Weeks continued to produce at the plate with 2-more hits upping his average to .235 on the year.  His average sat at .179 one month ago and a season low .164 two months back.  Weeks had been splitting time with Scooter Gennett who was called up on June 3rd.  After last nights game, the Brewers sent Gennett back to Triple-A Nashville (1B/OF Sean Helton from Nashville to Milwaukee) to get Weeks more at bats…

Juan Francisco (8) and Aramis Ramirez (5) went deep in the loss.  For Ramirez, the hit was number 2000 for his career.

The teams are back to a last place tie in the National League Central with identical 32-44 records.  They play the rubber match of the 3-game series this afternoon at Miller Park.  Wily Peralta (5-8, 5.59 ERA) goes for Milwaukee against Matt Garza (2-1, 4.25 ERA) of Chicago.  First pitch is 1:10
