Jon Cooper A year ago, the Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League won just 13 games all season.  On Sunday, the Gamblers capped off the regular season with their 39th win, tripling last seasons win total with a 6-4 victory over the Des Moine Buccaneers.

It's a monumental turn-around and the man responsible is first year head coach and general manager Jon Cooper (pictured).  Cooper turned the Gamblers into Anderson Cup champions, which is the title that goes to the USHL's regular season champion.  And for that effort, Cooper was voted the General Manager of the Year, as voted on by the league's coaches.  The Gamblers enter the playoffs this week as a top seed.  They'll open the best-of-5 opening round on Thursday night at the Resch Center in Green Bay against Waterloo.
