Jon CooperAfter dropping the first two games in the best-of-5 Clark Cup Championship series on home ice, the Green Bay Gamblers traveled to Fargo, ND last weekend and returned the favor, winning both road games.

Game 3 came down to the final :49 seconds in regulation when USHL Rookie of the Year, Anders Lee, jammed in the game-tying goal.  The Gamblers eventually won the game in triple overtime.  Green Bay used that momentum to win game 4 and now the two teams meet back in Green Bay tonight to play the 5th and deciding game for the coveted Clark Cup.

It’s been quite a turn-around for the Gamblers.  They won just 13 games in the 2007-08 season.  Since then, the Gamblers have captured the Anderson Cup regular season title the last two seasons.  And despite losing both games in the series at home, the Gamblers are 51-12-7 at the Resch Center over the last two seasons.

Green Bay went to Fargo and hopes appeared pretty dim, but coach Jon Cooper (pictured) said they didn’t quit.

Tonight’s game at the Resch Center is expected to be a near sellout.  Gamblers ownership put tickets on sale on Monday at $5 apiece.  Fans have been purchasing tickets at a steady pace ever since.
