A gang member who killed a 15 year-old Green Bay boy last year, thinking he was a rival gang member, will spend 40 years in prison. A Brown County judge sentenced 19 year-old Julio Gonzalez Monday, on charges of first degree reckless homicide and second degree recklessly endangering safety.
Court records indicated that Gonzalez had never met his victim, Jeremy Teller, and that Teller wasn’t the intended target. Teller’s father said he’s please with the sentence.
Gonzalez shot Teller, and fired a shot at Teller’s cousin, outside of a home in the 1100 block of Smith Street last July. Six others were also convicted for the shooting.
