John Gard's 8th District Congressional campaign is getting billed for President Bush's recent visit to the Green Bay area. Bush attended a $1,000 a plate dinner earlier this month for Gard's campaign. Police from Brown and Oneida Counties have sent the Gard campaign invoices for extra police that were needed for security during the visit earlier this month. Gard spokeswoman Christine Mangi says they have agreed to pay a $5,100 bill submitted by the Brown County Sheriff's Department. However, Mangi says a $5,000 bill from Oneida Police will not be paid because Gard wasn't present during that part of the trip and it was coordinated by the White House. Mangi says they will be willing to re-evaluate that decision if they can provide a link between the visit and Gard's campaign. A $588 bill is also expected from the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department.
