For the first time in weeks, gas prices in Wisconsin dip below $4 a gallon.

AAA Wisconsin's Pam Moen says the market remains unstable, but drivers are finally seeing some price relief. Gas prices on Wednesday hit averages below the $4 dollar mark in most Wisconsin markets.

However, prices remain high enough that it's doubtful anyone will be celebrating. Moen says $3.99 gas is not likely going to encourage people to get behind the wheel and take off.

Moen says prices this summer have defied all logic, since they've remained high despite low demand and plentiful supplies. She says over-speculation in the oil markets may be nearing an end, although it may be a little early to say the bubble is bursting. Moen says prices could easily climb back up if supplies are disrupted.
