There’s a move in the state Legislature to limit how much credit card companies can charge Wisconsin businesses.

The measure authored by state Representative Marlin Schneider (D-Wisconsin Rapids) would cap fees to merchants at one-percent of the cost of a credit card transaction. The Wisconsin Rapids Democrat says they’re now running around three-percent, which he says is hurting businesses.

Credit card companies are expected to raise questions as to whether the legislation is Constitutional.
