A recent email surfaced in which Jon Waclawski, the Wisconsin Republican Party's Director of Election Day operations, asked for poll watchers who are police officers or veterans. Mark Jefferson, Executive Director of the Republican Party says, in the past, volunteers from his party have felt intimidated by the hostility at they've received at certain inner city polling spots. He wants to ensure this election day, Republican volunteers won't be apprehensive to bring up observations of potential fraud or questionable activity.
Democrats accuse the opposing party of trying to suppress voter turnout. However, Jefferson says its Democrats who've been trained to "cry foul" when the Republicans make observations on election day. He adds at some polling spots, GOP volunteers are outnumbered four to one by Democrats.
The GOP leader says the party wants to make it easy for people to vote but hard for people to cheat.
