It's Inauguration Day at the State Capitol. State Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson administered the oath of office Wednesday afternoon for Governor Jim Doyle and the state's four other Constitutional officers. Doyle thanked the hundreds gathered in the Capitol rotunda for the ceremony.
During his inaugural address, Governor Jim Doyle said we must work together to improve Wisconsin's future and make the state a better place to live. One of the largest problems he hopes to address is the rising costs of health care. The Governor also wants to make sure Wisconsin provides a quality education to all children.
Members of the state legislature were also sworn in this afternoon.
