A Kenosha elementary school went on lockdown with a student’s report of an armed man in a mask. A 2nd grader’s claim, at the Edward Bain School of Language Arts, led to Kenosha Police blanketed the campus and securing the almost 800 students and 95 staffers, including evacuation to a nearby high school. The grade schoolers were either released to parents or bussed directly home from the high school site. A room-by-room search produced nothing.

Superintendent Joe Mangi said the response was by the book.

Mangi, who’s set to retire this summer, said there will be an incident de-briefing with local authorities as the investigation continues. Kenosha Police are now reviewing security video.
