The Horizon League Tournament opened last night and it wasn't a good night for the two state teams involved.
Both the Green Bay Phoenix and Milwaukee Panthers lost their opening round games and saw their season come to an end.
The Phoenix fell to Valparaiso 75-67 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Valpo faces Wright State in the second round in Indianapolis on Friday.
Mike Schachtner had 14 to lead the Phoenix (15-15).
In Milwaukee, the Panthers fell at home 57-51 to Loyola. J.R. Blount scored 23 points to lead the Ramblers (12-18) who have won three of their last four.
The Panthers (14-16) wind up their season losing five of their last six games.
The Ramblers will face Illinois-Chicago Friday night in a second game.
