Horizon League LogoThe last time the 22nd ranked Green Bay Phoenix women’s basketball team lost a Horizon League game was February 4, 2015 against Oakland.

Fast forward to Thursday night at the Kress Center in Green Bay, the Phoenix riding a 14-game winning streak and the Oakland Golden Grizzlies were back in town.  The Golden Grizzlies did what they did nearly a year ago, pull the upset, handing the Phoenix a 58-56 setback, their first in conference play this season.

The Phoenix (17-3, 7-1 HL) struggled from the floor most of the night, shooting just 35.5-percent (22-of-62) from the floor and 29.2-percent (7-of-24) from beyond the arc on the evening.

Sophomore Jessica Lindstrom scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the loss.

The Phoenix are back home on Saturday to host Detroit.

Panthers fall

In Milwaukee, cold second half shooting led to the end of the Panthers five-game winning streak.

Rosanna Reynolds scored 21 points to lead Detroit over the Panthers, 89-79, at the Klotsche Center.

The Panthers (11-8, 5-3 HL) shot 57.6% (19-of-33) in the first half to lead 47-44 at halftime.  But the Panthers shot just 36.7% (11 of 30) after the break.

Detroit hit 19 of 21 from the free throw line.  Reynolds hit all 12 of her free throws.

Junior guard Sierra Ford-Washington had 24 for the Panthers in defeat.
