Keifer Sykes scored all 16 of his points in the second half and Jordan Fouse pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Green Bay Phoenix to a 54-50 win over Chicago State at the Resch Center.
Both teams struggled in the first half, shooting 30 percent from the field, but the Phoenix started the second half with a 13-2 run and opened a 12-point lead with 15:52 left to play.
The Cougars climbed back into the game and actually took a 1-point lead with 2:49 left to play.
Alphonzo McKinnie and Keifer Sykes each made baskets to put Green Bay up three. McKinnie added a free throw to give Green Bay the four-point win. McKinnie finished with 13 points.
Sean Hill had 22 points to lead the Cougars.
Green Bay opens Horizon League play on Monday night at home against Wright State.
