The Green Bay Phoenix rallied from a 10-point deficit in the second half and held on for a 77-75 win over South Dakota State on Wednesday night in Brookings, South Dakota.
The Phoenix (7-2) outscored the Jack Rabbits 25-13 over the final 9 minutes after getting down 62-52 in a matchup of top mid-major programs.
South Dakota State freshman guard Macy Miller scored a game-high 23 points. Mehryn Kraker had 17 points and Tesha Buck 14 to lead the Phoenix.
Green Bay now plays host to Wisconsin in women’s action on Saturday night at the Kress Center.
Wisconsin got 14 points and 14 rebounds from fifth-year senior Cassie Rochel to lead the Badgers to a 51-48 victory over the Florida Gators in Gainesville.
The Badgers won their second straight game and improved to 3-5 on the season.
