Dangerous sub-zero temperatures appear to have contributed to a fatality in the city of Green Bay. Police said a woman’s body was found outside the Rendezvous Bar at 2928 West Mason Street, at around 7:30 a.m. Monday. They said the woman is an Oneida resident in her 40s, but have yet to identify her as they are still alerting family.

Investigators believe that alcohol and the frigid cold contributed to the woman’s death. All of Wisconsin saw temperatures below zero on Monday morning. The National Weather Service says another blast of Arctic air is due in tonight, and wind chills could be a problem into Wednesday.

Here are some tips to protect yourself from being a victim of the cold:

  • Dress accordingly as being outside for an extended period of time could result in a medical emergency.
  • Travel in groups. If one person needs assistance, the other can summon aid.
  • Use a designated driver or call a cab if you need a ride.
  • Have a plan and let others know what the plan is.
