It’s been a long time since Green Bay West won a varsity football game.  The streak of 45 consecutive losses finally came to an end last night as the Wildcats pulled out a thrilling 30-29 win over long-time rival Green Bay East.  It was the 109th meeting between the two teams.

The two teams traded the lead several times.  West led 22-21 entering the fourth quarter, but East running back Noah Delzer’s 7-yard TD run put East back in front 29-22.  It was the third TD for Delzer.

East was driving for another score but coughed up the football with West recovering.

Facing a 3rd and 19 at the East 24, Wildcats quarterback Brett Dejardin found Logan Cropsey wide open in the end zone for a touchdown.  The Wildcats converted the 2-point conversion to go up 30-29.  West held on from there for a win.
