University of Wisconsin-Green Bay freshman guard Troy Cotton has been named the Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Week.  It's the first such honor for Cotton and the second for a Phoenix player this season after Mike Schachtner earned the award Dec. 18.

Cotton averaged 19.5 points per game in UW-Green Bay's two wins last week while playing an average of just 21.5 minutes per contest.  He connected on 11 of 13 field goal attempts (84.6 percent), including seven of nine from 3-point range (77.8 percent), and hit 10 of 11 from the free throw line (90.9 percent) while coming off the bench in both games.

The Milwaukee native scored 16 points and a collegiate best 23 points in wins over Illinois-Chicago and UW-Milwaukee last week.
