The loss to the St. Louis Cardinals wasn’t the only piece of bad news for the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. Before the game, Manager Ron Roenicke announced that starter Zack Greinke would miss his scheduled start on Wednesday. Fatigue was the main reason for the decision. Greinke was ejected from his July 11th start in the Houston, after only 4-pitches, when slammed the ball to the ground after a close call at first base. Because of the short outing and the All-Star break, Roenicke went back to Greinke the next day. He lasted just 3-innings and gave up 3-runs. Greinke then started the first game after the All-Star break Friday night. In his last 14-innings, Greinke has given up 14-runs.
Tyler Thornburg will get the start Wednesday in the series finale with the Cardinals. Greinke should return for his next scheduled start, July 24th in Philadelphia.
