The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign wants reforms in how judges are disciplined. The call comes after a study done by the Democracy Campaign showed a large disparity between how Wisconsin's legal professionals are disciplined.

The group looked at disciplinary actions over the last six years against attorneys, and found many had their licenses suspended for offenses as simple as not paying State Bar dues on time or meeting continuing education requirements. WDC executive director Mike McCabe says that's compared to cases such as Justice Annette Ziegler's, who faces a reprimand for judicial misconduct.

The disciplinary process for judges and lawyers begins in different areas, but McCabe says it's the Supreme Court that decides how misconduct is handled. McCabe says the high court needs to hold judges to a higher standard of accountability.
