The League of Women Voters withdraws support for an ethics reform package. The ethics bill passed out of a key Assembly committee on Monday, but the League's Executive Director, Andrea Kaminski, says they're not seeing the changes they feel are needed in the plan, which is the focus of a special session of the legislature called by Governor Jim Doyle.

Kaminski says there are three provisions in the current package that need to be revised in order for the bill to be acceptable to the league. Governor Doyle's participation was hailed as a breakthrough, when the legislation was announced in December. Kaminski says it would be nice if the governor would help resolve the problems.

The Assembly Judiciary and Ethics Committee approved the ethics bill on Monday on an 8-1 vote.
