Wisconsin's gubernatorial candidates take to the air tonight in their first debate. It's the first of two confirmed meetings on television for Democratic Governor Jim Doyle and Republican challenger Mark Green. Doyle says he's ready for Friday's forum in Waukesha. He says it's a good chance for the public to hear where they stand on the issues.

The first forum will deal with taxes and the economy, a divisive issue between Doyle and Congressman Green. The Republican Green says Wisconsin has the highest tax burden in the Midwest, which is killing jobs and hurting families. Green says he's looking forward to the debate as well and the opportunity to talk to voters.

The hour-long debate, sponsored by ?We the People Wisconsin,? will air on television and public radio stations around the state.
