Bucky Badger logoAfter scoring the game winning basket in Wisconsin‘s upset over 4th-ranked Michigan State on Sunday, Ethan Hap has been named the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week by the league on Monday.

Happ finished the game with 14 points and eight rebounds.

For the week, Happ scored in double figures against both Michigan State (14 points) and Northwestern (12 points).  He averaged 13 points and seven rebounds and shot 53.8% from the floor.

Happ is Wisconsin’s first Big Ten Freshman of the Week since teammate Nigel Hayes won the award four times in 2013-14.  He leads the Big Ten with six double-doubles this season.

The Badgers hit the road this week, facing Penn State on Thursday in University Park, Pennsylvania.
