The state of Wisconsin is providing Harley-Davidson with a $25 million tax credit. Governor Jim Doyle and Harley-Davidson President and CEO Keith Wandell issued a joint statement Friday, after Harley-Davidson announced earlier this week that the motorycyle manufacturer will keep operations in Wisconsin.
The credit, provided through the state Commerce Department’s Enterprise Zone program, will be over nine years, and will be a performance-based incentive linked to jobs and capital investment at the company, and purchases from their in-state suppliers.
Harley-Davidson employees voted Monday to accept a new contract, which was critical to keeping the production operations in Menomonee Falls and Tomahawk.
