Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Justin Harrell can’t buy a break. The
Packers suffered some injuries in their 27-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Harrell, who appeared to put his back problems in the past, suffered what Mike McCarthy called a significant knee injury early in the game. It’ll likely sideline him for the rest of the season.
Running back Ryan Grant also went down with an ankle sprain. Grant said after the game that he’s not sure if he’ll be able to play in the Packers home opener against the Buffalo Bills at Lambeau Field this Sunday.
Brandon Jackson is the only other running back on the roster and would start Sunday against Buffalo if Grant can’t make it back. In that scenario, fullback John Kuhn would likely serve as Jackson’s backup at tailback.
DE Cullen Jenkins also will need to play with a cast for awhile after breaking his hand in the game yesterday. Jenkins returned to the game with a big club cast on his hand yesterday.
Safety Nick Collins also suffered bruised ribs in the win.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy will give an update on the injuries at his press conference later this morning.
