The Green Bay Packers signed practice squad quarterback Graham Harrell to their active yesterday, placing injured tight end Andrew Quarless on injured reserve.  The Packers hand was forced when the Buffalo Bills offered Harrell a spot on their 53-man roster.  The Packers had two options, promote Harrell to the 53-man roster, or let him sign with Buffalo.

With Matt Flynn’s presumed departure in free agency, the Packers offered Harrell a spot on their 53, a sign that the Packers intend to give Harrell a shot to back up Aaron Rodgers next season.

Harrell said not much changes for him day-to-day, other than the fact that he gets a nice bump in pay from a practice squad player to a member of the active 53-man roster.
