Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Corey Hart postponed knee surgery on Tuesday,

opting instead for a second opinion.
An MRI performed on Hart’s right knee was being sent to a specialist to see if he agrees with the diagnosis of Brewers team physician William Raasch.
Hart experienced swelling in his knee during offseason workouts. After an MRI revealed a “defect” in the knee as well as a slight meniscus tear, surgery was scheduled.
If Hart has the surgery, he was expected to miss three to four months, including up to six weeks of the upcoming season.
If Hart misses any time, the Brewers plan to use Mat Gamel at first place in his absence.
Brewers sign Crosby
The Brewers signed infielder Bobby Crosby to a minor-league deal with the Brewers with an invitation to spring training. Crosby has been out of baseball since 2010.
The Brewers have been looking for veteran backup help for Jean Segura at shortstop.
The 33-year-old Crosby was named American League rookie of the year in 2004 with Oakland, hitting .239 with 22 homers and 64 RBI’s that year. He’s been plagued by injuries for much of his career.
