Times are tough, but many Wisconsinites are still planning on hitting the road this holiday weekend.

Pam Moen of Wisconsin AAA says travel in the Midwest is expected to be up 4.5 percent from the Memorial Day holiday last year. She says most people will likely be traveling by car, with air travel expected to be down this year.

Moen says most trips will probably be close to home, with gas prices on the rise again.

The auto club estimates 700,000 Wisconsin residents will be heading out over the weekend.
