Living more sustainably, and reducing our impact on the environment is the goal of natural resources educators — a goal that's often frustrating, according Bret Shaw with UW Extension. "Many of have been working for decades handing out brochures and holding workshops," Shaw says, adding that those efforts don't always correspond to a change in behaviors.
Shaw co-edits a newsletter, produced by faculty from UW-Madison and UW Extension provides innovative, psychology-based strategies for promoting behaviors that positively impact the environment, through concepts like social marketing. The free publication, " Environmental Communication and Social Marketing " is expected to be published three times per year in both print and Web versions.
