Wisconsin was :15 seconds away from taking over first place in the WCHA, but Denver, with a 6th skater on the ice, put one past goaltender Shane Connelly to tie the game at 3-3 and force overtime.  Forty-one seconds into overtime, the Badgers turned it over in their own zone and Brian Gifford scored the game winner to give the Pioneers a 4-3 win over the Badgers in overtime.

Wisconsin could have moved into first place with the win.  Instead, they find themselves 3-points behind Denver with the two teams to meet again Saturday night at the Kohl Center.

Wisconsin got goals from Blake Geoffrion, Patrick Johnson and Michael Davies.  Wisconsin's record falls to 16-12-3 overall, 13-8-2 in the WCHA.
