The 18th ranked Wisconsin men’s hockey team opened their season Saturday night with a 5-0 exhibition win over the U.S. Under-18 Team at the Kohl Center.

Junior defenseman Chase Drake, who has just two games played in his career, scored a goal and two assists to pace the Badgers.

Freshman defenseman Kevin Schulze and freshman forward Morgan Zulinick each scored goals for the Badgers.

Sophomore goaltenders Joel Rumpel and Landon Peterson each played half the game to split the 23-save shutout.

The Badgers open the regular season this Friday night in Green Bay against Northern Michigan at the Resch Center.
